Batik Printing on Silk: Fabric, Color, and Motif
A guide to silk scarves and shawls printed with batik, including fabric quality, color stability, motif, and wearable use.
Batik on silk is not only a decorative surface. Fabric quality, color handling, color fastness, softness, and drape all affect the experience of wearing the piece.
For online selling, a scarf or shawl should be photographed on a plain background and in real styling, with exact dimensions clearly stated.
Because color and motif variation can be high, each colorway or design option should be treated as a separate variant when needed.
Fabric and touch
For a silk scarf or shawl, softness, drape, thickness, and the way the fabric reacts to light directly affect use.
A listing should show exact size, a styled image, and a close image of the weave or surface.
Color and care
