A list of questions buyers should ask before paying for a handmade or craft object.

Travelers often have limited time, and this makes them vulnerable to vague or inflated claims. A beautiful object may still need clear information before purchase.

The goal is not to frighten the buyer. The goal is to build lasting trust for the market of handmade and craft objects.

Questions to ask

What is the material? Who made it? Is the origin documented? Is it new, old, restored, or inspired by a historical model?

Are there close images of the back, edge, signature, repair, and scale? What care instructions are needed?
